We’re pleased to be able to share this model, from Whangamata’s Jason Bartley’s, a fun build of a captured Sd.Kfz.231 8-RAD armoured car in Russian service, based on the original Tamiya Sd.Kfz.232 kit, with contributions from the spare parts box.

Guest Model Feature : Rod Allison’s M35 Mittlere Panzerwagen ADGZ

Our first contributing modeller is Whangaparoa’s Rod Allison with his build of the 1/35 Hobbymodellbau F. Schmidt vacuformed Steyr ADGZ, a rather interesting Austrian pushme-pullyou style armoured car taken into German service following the Austrian Anschluss. The figures are a mix of Tamiya and Italeri with a few Hornet heads added.

This is a diorama made by my daughter Aimee who has just turned 12. After watching me she and her sister wanted to build their own. Her sister is still working on hers but no doubt photos will be forthcoming upon completion. The 1/35 scale figure is just there for size comparison.
This one is made from the usual model railway scenery products like plaster impregnated cloth, Woodlands Scenics scrubs and grasses and melted hot glue gun sticks for water. She intends to model dinosaurs on it rather than tanks ( I guess you can’t have everything ).
My first diorama made in 2008. Two Italeri Sd.Kfz 234/2 Pumas built OOB other than some scratchbuilt stowage frames and replacing the Italeri Jerrycans with better ones. Figures are a mix of Tamiya and Dragon. Most features of the base including the tree and plow are scratchbuilt, the house base is a heavily modified Italeri Church Facade with a scratchbuilt roof.
