Catch Up With Part 9 : HERE
Well I’ve actually skipped a couple of updates. The stowage is all sorted and two figures are finished with four more ready to paint, but with the weather not contributing the necessary light for decent photos the updates on those will have to wait till later in the week when I can get some decent photos.
In the meantime I’ve started on the base composition and have settled on the layout. I briefly toyed with adding para figures at the other end of the bridge but then I felt it was moving away from the point of the diorama, the crashed Steyr.
The base will be undercut under the bridge with about a 60 degree embankment and there will be bushes etc to the sides of the road. The left wall of the bridge is currently a stand-in with a cut-out to allow the Steyr to sit where it will finally sit once the left side corner is pranged. That will get replaced before the plaster goes on.
At this point in time I’m just toying with the last two figures and trying to decide if I will include them or not, and if so just what their positions and poses will be. At the moment it’s looking like a seriously wounded man on the bridge with the last man coming around the left side of the vehicle carrying a first aid kit. The last two photos show the scene without those two.
That’s it for now, I’ll throw up a couple of updates later in the week to cover the stowage and the four figures that are ready to be painted.
One final photo, this is the style in which the bridge will be done.
