New Work In Progress From MiniArt – Close Combat U.S. Tank Crew

It seems that it never rains, but it pours. After a long period with little in the way of U.S. armour crews in enjection moulded kits suddenly MiniArt give us three in the works. This third one is a very welcome touch and I’d love to see this sort of action poses take on German and British armour crews as well.

OK, so building an old stuart kit (Tamiya), so looking at images, and came across this, wicked – 16 tanks, two started up and running already, amazing.

Little help though, I won’t be able to make this a Normany version will I, the M3 Stuart early Tamiya model… That’s what I have been googling for. Anyone…?

I’m no Stuart expert but pretty sure the Tamiya kit represents one of the rarer models from about 1942. The yanks ( and FFI ) were using the larger M3A3 and M5 by Normandy but considering how many were sent to England I wouldn’t be surprised to see some in Normandy in Commonwealth/Polish hands. Depends what you’re aiming to depict I guess.

I agree, hopefully the wait isn’t too long before they are on sale

Unfortunately based on the usual time between a WIP being announced and it appearing on shelves I wouldn’t be asking Santa for one this year. But when they do arrive I’ll definitely be in the queue

oh, I love this one, great set. Have been wanting a machine gun firing tanker for longer than I can remember!!

    • Dean says:

Yeah I can see this being popular. Might even tempt me into building some US armour.

      • Bart says:

yes, can see a knocked out tank and the crew hiding in behind it, and a second tank perhaps with the commander on the MG trying to cover them…
Will be able to use my stock of Shermans at last….!
