Thanks Dean,Just please let me know when they are ready forsale, once I get the kit, then I will bother you for reference material.
Who made these halftracks Dean?
It seems to big to be made of cast iron, maybe not,
Just looks TO TOY like as it is
They’re a field modification of the standard Sd.Kfz.10. They used large blocksof wood, took the wheels off a 3.7cm PaK 36 and mounted it onto the blocks of wood. They were very much a short term quick fix during the battle for the low countries in 1940 and lasted into the early stages of the invasion of Russia but were found to be too underpowered so they were upgraded to mount a 5cm PaK 38 but that still wasn’t really up to the job so they don’t seem to be seen around beyond 1942.
I have more info on these on the harddrive in a dead computer but I can look it up again if you want. Later versions also had improvised armour around the cab and radiator similar to that on the Sd.Kfz.10/5.
