For those who missed it I went up to Auckland as part of the Waikato Scale Modelling Club as an Exhibitor also promoting www.kiwimodeller.com ( and to a lesser degree this here site ). I was up there yesterday ( it finishes this afternoon ) and took a few photos from both our stand, which we shared with Auckland IPMS, as well as a few of the independent modeller’s stands.
I’m afraid I don’t know who the individual models belong to so can’t credit them but if you see one of yours and want to drop us a line I’ll happily add your name in. I also must apologise for the truly awful photos, partly as I forgot my tripod, partly as I forgot to change the settings from close-up to indoor, and partly as I have just realised that if I wear my glasses when taking photos I can actually see when they are out of focus. But these give you an idea of what was there, ( just click on each photo for the full sized version ).
This last one is the Auckland IPMS guys helping kids to get into the hobby using donated 1/72 scale Airfix kits. A big thanks to the organisers of Model-X for having us there this year, and to the guys from Auckland IPMS for helping us out with the tables and security. Cheers guys.

CAN YOU HELP WITH A NAME OF ONE OF THE EVENT PEPOLE
I WISH TO MAKE CONTACT IN REGUARDS TO A TRADE STAND WHAT WAS PRESENT AT THE WEEKEND
MANY THANKS BARRIE
Hi Barrie ( and anyone interested in getting involved with Model-X ), you can contact the event organiser Gary Baxter through the Model-X website http://www.model-x.org.nz/contact/
Attended the show on a beeping wet Saturday and thought that it was not a patch on 2010. The IPMS display was bigger and brighter with some interesting items on display. Loved the learners table. What a great idea. The two other displays that had military dioramas had some interesting stuff complete with storage dust. To me the ideas were good but execution was less good. Eg. Late war German equipment with early war figures. Minatures display was down on last year as was the number of second hand kit stalls. The main stall was was down on buyable goods for me [ Dean must've got in first, he he ]. Noticed the prices on one stand were near new so no threat to TradeMe. Went in with $100.00 and came out with the same monies, not one cent spent. Also missed the Lego working train that was there last year.
Could I have done better? Probably not so I had better shut up and sign out.
Haha, I didn’t spend $ one. Not unless you count the cafe. I was there on Sunday and thought it was a lot quieter than last year. I did miss the second hand book stand, the Osprey stand and the one that did the mini lathes and bandsaws. I thought the second hand kits this year were a bit overpriced and stands like Merv Smith make me wonder who is out there paying those sorts of prices. I know what you mean about the dioramas. I was surprised at the lack of real quality dioramas ( though several of the IPMS armour kits there were very well done ), so I can only assume the serious AMPS and IPMS guys are like me and too paranoid to entrust our precious to the hands of another to put out where unkown fingers can prod them.
I was tempted to buy one of those 1/16 scale RC tanks though.
