If you look back a year to Nuremberg in 2010 I decided that it was a sign of 2010 being a good year for artillery fans, and it certainly was ( and would be even better if DML’s new 25pdr were on the shelves ). This year the actual models on display weren’t really anything new and exciting but it’s the planned releases for 2011 that gets the interest up, making this most definitely the year of the soft-skin. 2009 and 2010 saw a lot of new ones added, and now we see more in the future with the Tamiya Krupp Protze Kfz.70 to start with, but much more importantly are the planned releases from ICM Holdings and IBG Models. Just take a look at what they have planned for us :
IBG Models 35005 Einheitsdiesel with 3,7cm Breda
IBG Models 35006 Einheitsdiesel with simplified Bilstein recovery crane
IBG Models 35007 Einheitsdiesel with field kitchen
IBG Models 35026 Büssing NAG Bussing NAG
ICM 35461 Krupp L3H163 Krupp schwerer Lkw heavy trucks
ICM 35466 Henschel 33 D1 schwerer Lkw heavy trucks
ICM 35471 Admiral Cabriolet
ICM 35472 Admiral Saloon Admiral Saloon
ICM 35475 Kapitän Saloon Captain Saloon closed
ICM 35525 Mercedes Benz L1500A (Kfz.70)
ICM 35531 G4 (1939 Production)with three figures
With the way IBG are building multiple variants upon their Einheitsdeisel platform I think it’s a safe bet that we will see similar with their Bussing Nag truck.
But for me the real winning news here is what ICM have planned, in particular the Henschel 33 D1 truck which till now has only been available as a very expensive CMK Resin kit, and the Mercedes G4 ( likewise till now only available in resin from Plusmodel ). The Krupp L3H and the Mercedes L1500A are also going on my want list but those first two in particular are the cream of the crop for me.
