British 25pdr Field Gun Walkaround

These were taken of the gun outside the Memorial Centre in Thames, so as such keep in mind that anything that can be stolen or easily broken has already been removed or welded into place. I also don’t know the history of the gun and as we used these well past WWII it may have features of a post war gun.

These images have been resized for the site, if you’re after bigger, higher res photos drop me a line. Also I pass through Thames regularly so if you need better shots of a particular area let me know and I will see what I can do.

at the Mount Maunganui RSA their is a good old field piece too – no idea what it is though – reminds me of an 88, but won’t be, something of that sort though!! Also Katikati on the way out at their RSA has some sort of AA gun.

I’ll start taking my camera when I go visiting these places.

I’ve always had a dream of coming along in the night and replacing this with a 1/35th scale model.

Would just need a bloody big truck.

Would be a hell of a joke I reckon, always made me chuckle just thinking of it.

There is a 40mm bofors (I think) at the Whangamata RSA if anyone wants some pics of that?

If you get any send them through and I’ll put them up as a walkaround. I’m going into Paeroa today so going to get some photos of the M2A2 there field gun as well.
