AM Part Review : Tasca Browning M2 Machine Gun Set C

100_4259

Tasca without a doubt build what are the best 1/35 scale Sherman kits around and in this set they have taken their beautiful M2 Browning .50 cal Machine Gun and made it into it’s own little set. In fact better than that, you get two of them. This version is Set C which comes with the early type cradle for vehicle mounts.

The guns themselves are made up of six parts including separate barrels, cocking handles and feed covers. You actually get three choices of barrel which all have hollowed muzzles and breeches. If you buy one of these sets don’t go cutting the receiver from the sprue, they just look like they are attached when actually they are just pushed on to a pin to protect the hollow barrel sheild. These guns were designed to be shown stripped down, the detail is just that good. They even have internal receiver detail so that the feed cover can be posed open.

As well as the two guns you get two ammo boxes that are the correct WWII M2 shape. These are made up of three parts and have beautiful delicate detail. You also get two feed boxes, made up of three parts also,  which mount to the cradles. The cradles themselves are very well made also.

Lastly you get two lengths of ammo belt, and in a move other manufacturers should take note of these are mouded standing up rather than flat, which means gone are the mould seams running around every bullet.  There are in fact no mould seams, just a length of the most delicately moulded ammo belt around.

Does it sound like a like these guns ? You bet, in fact I love them and I think every kit with a .50 cal MG on it should replace them with one of these.
