Another in Miniart’s range of Red Army figure sets, this time a five figure set depicting tank crews loading ammunition.
The kit comes on two small sprues of grey moulded plastic, the sculpting is excellent with good folds to the uniforms and Miniart’s typically very nicely detailed faces and hands although the faces look fairly unemotive taken together they do convey a bored look that one would expect with a task like ammo restocking. The mouldings are very good with minimal cleanup, the fit as on most figures using seperate legs requires a little filler in and cleanup to completely eliminate the joins once assembled but nothing major. At an average of 51-52mm these figures scale out at 178-183cm or 5’10″ to 6″ which makes them a good size.
The five figures are all dressed in tanker overalls, three are wearing tankers helmets whilst the other two are bareheaded. The side flaps for the three helmets being worn are moulded as separate parts which allows them to look much more natural when assembled as the flaps look to be hanging down as they should.
No weapons or equipment is included but there are seven assorted tank shells, though my knowledge of Russian ordanance is insufficient to identify them ( see sprue shot ).
Once again Miniart have shown that well sculpted faces and uniforms ARE possible in plastic kits and this set is another good one that should be very popular with Red Army armour modellers.
