Kit Review : Miniart German Tank Crew 1944

This kit consists of five full figures shown hurrying to mount their AFV, the commander holding a flare gun and looking aloft perhaps indicating that they are mounting up to get under way due to an impending airstrike. All five are dressed in late war camoflage printed cotton uniform ( but could equally be painted in the black Panzer uniform ), all moulded with what appears to be the Panzer Assault badge on their left breast pocket, the commander also having an Iron Cross. The commander wears the soft officers cap while the other four all wear the standard german peaked cap.

There are no weapons included other than the flare gun moulded into the commander’s hand and a  holstered sidearms for each figure, nor is there any other type of personal equipment.

The sculpting is excellent with good folds to the uniforms, very nicely detailed faces and hands and good poses with just the right animation to convey the urgency in the task at hand. The mouldings are very good with minimal cleanup, the fit as on most figures using seperate legs requires a little filler in and cleanup to completely eliminate the joins once assembled but nothing major.   Assembly is of course childspaly with only the base figures to put together without any accoutrements.

Overall another very nice kit from Miniart which will add an interesting sense of movement to any armoured piece.
