Kit Review : Italeri Field Tool Shop

100_3664

This is a much underated and seldom seen kit, and due to the fact that it is about to be re-released wearing the Tamiya brandname ( and with a couple of US mechanic figures included ) I thought this was a good time to take a look.

If you’re doing a diorama or even just a vehicle shown opened up for maintenance then this is a fantastic little set full of all sorts of little treasures.

Moulded in light grey, the details are clean and sharp, cleanup is extremely minimal and assembly is childsplay.

For around $12-$15 NZD you get just what you see on the box :

An A frame with lifting block and tackle ( you’ll need your own chain and hook ), an air compressor with two spray guns, an anvil, drum on a frame, ladder, toolbox, two different oil cans, four different jacks, a wooden work bench, six gas bottles with a small trolley that holds two of them, a funnel, three spanners, two small hammers, a sledgehammer, a screwdriver, a wheel brace, three types of spade/shovel, a fuel drum with a handcranked pump, boltcutters, a WWII style .50cal ammo tin, a vice and track tensioners.

These all work just as well for allied scenes as they do for german scenes and there should be one of these in every diorama builder’s spare parts box.
